Doug earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Miami. He also studied design at the School of Visual Arts in New York, including coursework under Milton Glaser.

Doug has lectured at institutions including Columbia University, the University of Central Florida, and Full Sail University, and has spoken for organizations such as AIGA and the Graphic Artists Guild. He also mentors emerging designers through AIGA, as well as serves on the Advisory Board for The Los Angeles Film School. In addition, he is co-host of the Brand of Brothers podcast, where he explores branding, design, and the systems behind how brands are built.
